Burned Rare Pepes
Some cards became rare not by design but by fire. Four Rare Pepes were burned down to a single surviving edition — and one, POWH, was burned out of existence entirely.
Burned scarcity ≠ born scarcity
Burnt to 1 — a distinct thing. Across the whole collection, 272 cards (~15%) have been touched by a burn at some point.Burnt to 1
Four cards were reduced to a single surviving copy by sending the rest to a burn address.

The WINKELPEPE mystery: Cameron, or Tyler?

WINKELPEPE was issued as a pair — two cards for two twins. Days later, one of the two was sent into the fire, leaving a single surviving edition. And here's the part the blockchain can't answer: which twin went into the flames — Cameron, or Tyler? The ledger records the burn transaction to the satoshi; it does not record which brother's face was on the card that vanished. It remains one of Rare Pepe's small, unsolved mysteries.
What's fact vs lore here
Burnt to 0: POWH

POWH is the collection's only card burned entirely out of existence — a current supply of zero. All 250 units were destroyed the day after mint, a deliberate, ritual gesture marking the collapse of the “POWH3D” (Proof of Weak Hands 3D) Ethereum contract and the wholesale loss of participants' funds. The card exists forever as a registered asset name with nothing behind it — a monument to a rug. The card is credited to the artist “Looney.”
It still exists — as nothing
POWH is permanently on-chain; its supply is simply zero. You can hold the memory of it, but never the card.Other notable burns
Two of the burnt-to-1 cards above belong to a small cluster of “GOD” cards whose editions of 100 were burned down to single digits — GODALIEN (→1), plus GODAMUNRA (→2), GODANUBIS (→4), GODDESSISIS (→4) and GODDESSHEQET (→5). They don't all reach exactly 1, so most carry the general Burnt origin rather than Burnt to 1 — but together they're one of the collection's more deliberate scarcity-by-fire episodes.
How we counted the burns
A card's current supply is issued minus everything destroyed. Counterparty records two kinds of destruction: a protocol destroy (the destructions table) and a send to a known burn address (an address with no spendable key). We subtract both.
current = issued
− SUM(destructions.quantity WHERE status='valid')
− SUM(sends.quantity WHERE status='valid' AND destination IN <burn addresses>)
-- Burnt to 1: current = 1 AND issued > 1
-- Burnt to 0: current = 0 AND issued > 0Sources: on-chain Counterparty ledger (issuances/destructions/sends, burn-address list); card lore cross-checked against the pepe.wtf wiki.
